BRIEF HISTORY

Formed in 1979 by the principal teacher Barbara Slater ADCRG TCRG
Clann na nGael was formed as a touring Dance Company, and is one of the leading specialists in this exciting art form. The company has toured extensively throughout England, Europe and America, and continues to perform and take workshops and master classes, at prestigious festivals and gala events around the world.

The school was formed in the early eighties, as a result of the popularity of the touring company, and from its earliest conception has always provided a very high standard of teaching, producing an abundance of champion dancers, several of whom have now gone on to dance and lead in the popular Lord of the Dance show with Michael Flatley.

Clann na ngael has achieved competition success at the highest level, attaining major championship titles and placing in both solo and team dancing at the World, All Ireland, British Nationals, Great Britain, All Scotland, and American National championships.

We continue to strive to ensure our dancers reach their full potential, whether dancing for fun and fitness, orĀ  driven to scale the dizzy heights of success, we encourage our up and coming dancers to learn from what we have achieved, and enjoy themselves on their journey.
